Si sono tenuti ieri sera i VMA Awards 2024 e la notozia che subito ha fatto il giro del web è il record conquistato da Taylor Swift.

Durante la cerimonia  tenutasi alla UBS Arena di Elmont, a New York, e condotta da Megan Thee Stallion, la Swift ha vinto nelle categorie più pesanti: Artist of the Year, Best Pop, più Video of the Year, Song of Summer, Best Collaboration, Best Direction e Best Editing per la canzone Fortnight, realizzata in collaborazione con Post Malone. Così. con ben trenta statuette, Taylor Swift è ufficialmente l’artista più premiata di sempre nella storia degli MTV Video Music Awards.

Non è però finita qui visto che, nonostante l’insuccesso del suo ultimo singolo, Katy Perry è comunque riuscita a conquistare nel corso della serata il prestigioso Video Vanguard Award per il contributo artistico lasciato nel mondo della musica. Vincitrice anche Sabrina Carpenter per Song of the Year con il tormentone estivo Espresso, contenuto nell’album Short n’ Sweet, arrivato al primo posto della classifica US Billboard 200.
Tra i vincitori della serata anche il grande Lenny Kravitz, che ha trionfato nella categoria Best Rock grazie al brano Human, secondo estratto dall’album Blue Electric Light uscito nel mese di maggio.

E se Ariana Grande ha vinto come Best Cinematography per la hit We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for your Love), Dua Lipa e Billie Eilish si difendono rispettivamente con il premio Best Choreography e quello Video for Good.
