Si è tenuta la premiazione degli Emmy award 2024, ossia i famigerati Oscar della tv americana. I premi assegnati sono stati una sorpresa per molti, poichè non hanno rispettato del tutto le previsioni che erano state fatte.

L’Emmy 2024 per la miglior serie comica è andata a Hacks, ambientata nel mondo della standup comedy. La miglior serie drammatica è invece la serie epica ambientata nel Giappone del Seicento Shogun, che ha conquistato il numero altissimo di 18 premi (compresi gli Emmy creativi) e stabilito un nuovo record, mentre la miglior miniserie è il fenomeno delle polemiche Baby reindeer.

Shogun ha conquistato 18 riconoscimenti su 25 candidature: adattamento originale del romanzo bestseller di James Clavell, la serie (in Italia disponibile su Disney+) è ambientata in Giappone nell’anno 1600, all’alba di una guerra civile che segnerà un secolo. Shogun è un titolo ereditario conferito ai dittatori politici e militari che governarono il Giappone tra il 1192 e il 1868, una serie feroce e poetica che mette l’accento sulla diversità e l’accoglienza.

The bear, ampiamente premiata negli anni scorsi, e stata premiata con i suoi protagonisti. Per la seconda volta di fila, Jeremy Allen Whitee i non protagonisti Liza Colón-Zayas che interpreta Tina e Ebon Moss-Bachrach che è il cugino Richie.
